How The Magic Helped The Company

Lawrie Alderman, Director of TPS, had seen Wayne's Magic live at Hanbury Manor. He approached Wayne to ask if he would entertain TPS clients and help promote the company at a forthcoming Trade Show, held at Earls Court later that year.

Wayne met with the TPS staff at their offices, and Mr Alderman explained that his company was sponsoring a VIP lounge where exhibitors could bring their prospects for lunch. The decision was that Wayne would perform his magic within the lounge, and promote TPS.

Wayne explained that because he would be working in a lounge there was the opportunity to spend more time with the TPS clients, and suggested that he design a personalised Magic trick for the company. This trick would be performed by Wayne, the difference being that the client got to keep the trick as a souvenir. To make the whole thing a memorable promotional session, Wayne suggested that he design the trick to be quick and straightforward to follow, so that the client could THEMSELVES then perform it for future prospects, friends and colleagues. Through this unique approach TPS were effectively able to continue the promotion long after the exhibition itself was over.

TPS thought this to be an excellent idea, however there was an extremely tight timescale as with the exhibition due to begin less than four weeks away, work had to start immediately. Working alongside TPS, several prototype tricks were made and a final trick was agreed. The tricks were manufactured in bulk and the exhibition went ahead, with Wayne working the full three-day event performing his Magic in the VIP lounge. As well as being entertained, every TPS client was given a truly unique "giveaway".

Mr Alderman later said :-

"The idea of the giveaway Magic tricks was an extremely clever principle; you made our clients very relaxed, which in turn made it far easier for our sales team to approach them. We will certainly be using your services again"
