The cracking finger ring

Effect:

A borrowed finger ring is placed inside a napkin, and held up by the owner, a click of the fingers and the ring has vanished. The napkin is unwrapped by a spectator to prove your truthfulness, (you do not touch a thing).

As your guest panics you reach over and offer to pull the Crackers on the table, when they pull theirs, the ring is found inside.

Preparation:

On inspection if you pull, ever so slightly, the end of a Cracker, the neck opens to allow you to look inside. This opening also allows you to place objects inside. Grasp this
Concept.

The Vanish

To vanish the ring you must use a paper napkin. Place the ring in the centre of the napkin and pull up the corners so the ring sits in it hammock style. You then offer the napkin for a spectator to feel the ring really is inside. You then feel the napkin yourself to cement the thought in their minds, as you do this, you squeeze the ring so it tears through the napkin and falls into your hand. (They are still holding the napkin in their hands at this point).

The Cracker Thing

You now click your fingers over their hand and take the napkin from them, open it and shake it to prove it has vanished. You then screw the napkin up and throw it on the table, thus destroying the tear. With the ring secretly in your right hand reach over and pick up a Cracker, as you do this, casually straighten it as to offer the other side to your guest. In reality what you actually do here is, pull the end of the Cracker so the neck opens, as this happens you secretly drop the ring inside as you offer the other end to your guest.

Now all you need to do, is pull the Cracker and watch their faces do impressions of Goldfish.

This really is a stunning effect if properly done, it needs practice, so give it time and you'll have a trick people will be talking about for many Christmases to come....
